Welcome to Abba's Shilohs located in the Shenandoah Valley.

We are located in the upper North West corner of Virginia, one mile from the Shenandoah River and the Appalachian Trail and about two hours from Washington, DC. Here at Abba's, our Shiloh Shepherds are more than just dogs, they are our "fur babies" and our best friends. Currrently we are the proud owners of three Shiloh Shepherds, Nico, Arabella & Bianca. Our children are grown and have their own families now so our Shilohs are our children or "Fur Babies", as we refer to them in the Shiloh Shepherd world. Our Shilohs live in the house with us not in outside kennels.

I'd like to tell you how and why we got interested in the Shiloh Shepherds. In 2002, our seven month old German Shepherd had to be put down because of extreme hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia and bones that were not formed correctly. The vet told us that her x-rays looked like they belonged to a dog 13-15 years old. Needless to say we were heart broken. I knew then that I would never buy another dog from a "back yard breeder" whose only interest was to make money. That was when my quest began. I searched the Internet and found a breed called a Shiloh Shepherd.

The Shiloh Shepherd is a healthy, large breed dog with good hips and sound temperament. I spent several months on the Shiloh Shepherd website reading all I could about this awesome breed. After serious consideration, I made my decision. I sent in my deposit and the waiting began. On April 26, 2003, I picked up my first Shiloh Shepherd puppy, a beautiful white plush male called Nico. One thing I can tell you is that one is definitely NOT enough! A few months after bringing Nico home, we adopted Lilli. In June 2004 we added Arabella and it just kept going from there.
